On arrival in Las Vegas, I had many preconceived ideas of what I was going to find there. Gambling and casino machines filled with drunk businessmen and strippers. This is of course one aspect of Vegas, but it has so much more to offer! Here are the top 5 things that surprised me and I enjoyed greatly:
1. Mount Charleston
The first hotel I stayed in was The Resort At Mount Charleston. This was breathtaking! The air was different, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Due to jetlag, I watched the sunrise over the mountains and I have never seen a nicer view! The journey up to the hotel showed me a very different side to the scenery, cattle ranches, snow topped mountains and weird and wonderful wildlife.
The lifestyle with that area of Las Vegas is obviously very laid back and all the staff and locals seemed to take chilling out very seriously. This area is famous for its skiing and snowboarding in the winter months.
